First ever women and mental health survey

We're launching our first ever women and mental health survey – which will be open to all members between 14 December and 31 January.

Women represent 51% of the population and are more likely than men to experience mental ill health. They face inequity in access to mental health services, compounded by intersectionality and women also face inequality in the workplace.

Through this survey, we hope to understand the current experience of women and girls accessing mental health services and women in our workforce.

We will use what we learn to develop a ‘Women’s Mental Health Matters’ strategy that prioritises and promotes the mental health of women and girls – those who access our services and in our workforce - and, where necessary, call on employers to do more to safeguard women’s rights and to promote equality, diversity and inclusion for women.

There are four short sections we are asking all members to respond to and a final section for women psychiatrists only:

  1. About you
  2. Your service and provision of mental health services for women and girls
  3. Clinical training
  4. Your own experience of discrimination, domestic and sexual violence
  5. Experiences of women psychiatrists (women only)

The survey should only take around 15 minutes to complete and your answers will remain anonymous unless you would like to provide your details.

Thank you in advance for taking part in this important survey.
