Assisted dying – tell us what you think
Share your views on assisted dying: fill in our survey for members in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Crown Dependencies, which closes Monday 4 November.
For the first time ever, the College is developing a formal public position on assisted dying/assisted suicide, and we need your help to ensure it reflects the views of our membership.
Your responses will enable us to inform parliaments in the UK and Crown Dependencies about the views of psychiatrists on a change in law.
On Friday 18 October, the College sent out a survey on assisted dying/assisted suicide to RCPsych members in Wales, Northern Ireland and all English divisions (which includes members in the Crown Dependences).
Scottish members were surveyed on this topic earlier this year to inform the RCPsych in Scotland's response to the Bill currently before Holyrood.
Responses to this survey and the survey already carried out for Scottish members will be used to develop an overarching position that reflects the views of members, recognises the complexity of this topic and is relevant to the different pieces of legislation across the UK.
You may choose to research this topic before completing this survey, or write a reflective note on the subject after you have filled it out; either of these activities could be considered a learning activity and recognised as CPD, with peer group approval.
It can be completed in English or Welsh. Responses will be analysed anonymously.
