Dr Corinna Hackmann

Corinna Hackmann PhD, DClinPsy, is a Research Clinical Psychologist and Research Development Lead for adult services in Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust. Corinna led on work in collaboration with the WHO to integrate service user feedback from the UK, US and India into the development of the ICD-11 (the INCLUDE study). This resulted in a policy paper published in the Lancet Psychiatry. Corinna has also published papers relating to the process of mental health diagnosis and how this can be improved for service users. Corinna is particularly interested in understanding the language of mental health diagnosis. This includes the historical, scientific and medical evolution of the words that are used in psychiatric systems and the way that these words impact the social and individual construction and understanding of mental illness.
