Dr Sunil Nodiyal
Chair, Social and Rehabilitation Faculty and Chair, Northern and Yorkshire Division
Dr Sunil Nodiyal did his undergraduate in 1993 and then postgraduate psychiatric training in 1998 from New Delhi before coming over to the UK in 2001. He became a member of the College in 2004 after completing his training in the UK and a fellow in 2016.
His day job is a consultant psychiatrist in community rehabilitation services in Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS foundation trust. He is the associate medical director for appraisals in his trust and also work with GMC to assess and supervise doctors under investigations. He is the chair of the Northern and Yorkshire division of the college.
His priorities include supporting colleagues in their workplace, co-production, parity of esteem between physical and mental health and Equality and Diversity.
His area of interest lies in rehabilitation and recovery in severe mental illnesses.
