Professor Tim Kendall
Clinical and Strategic Director, NCCMH
Professor Tim Kendall is Director of the National Collaborating Centre for Mental Health (NCCMH) at the Royal College of Psychiatrists and Visiting Professor at University College London.
He is also Medical Director and Consultant Psychiatrist for the homeless at Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust which provides care for a population of 600,000 people.
Prof Kendall chaired the first NICE guideline, launched in December 2002, on the management of schizophrenia and since then the NCCMH has produced more than 25 NICE guidelines covering most of mental health. Professor Kendall has also worked with NICE International and the OECD in a number of countries, including South Korea, Georgia and Turkey.
Professor Kendall has published numerous articles and papers. In 2004, in conjunction with others from the NCCMH, he was awarded Lancet Paper of the Year for selective publishing in SSRI’s and the treatment of childhood depression.
