Get involved with the NW Division

There are lots of ways you can get involved with the Northern and Yorkshire Division!

Taking a role on the Executive Committee

The Northern and Yorkshire Executive Committee are always looking for new members! Being a member of the Exec will help you expand your network of professional contacts, shape the service the College provides to members in the region, and will be a lot of fun too.

Read more about the work of the Division Executive.

See Vacancies on the Division Executive and how to apply.

Engaging with the College

If joining the Exec is not for you, the Executive Committee encourage members to engage with the College locally, and welcome comments and suggestions from the wider membership.

If you’d like to contact the Executive Committee, you can do so via the Division Office, details below.

Attending an event or training session

The Divisions team works hard to provide great events and training sessions at which you can gain CPD points, keep your knowledge up to date and network with other members, carers and patient representatives in the region.

Find out about our upcoming events.

Contributing to the Division's news updates or speaking at an event

We'd love to hear from Division members who'd like to contribute an article to our news updates or speak at one of our events. If you'd like to, please email northernandyorkshire@rcpsych.ac.uk.

Taking part in our mentoring scheme

The Northern and Yorkshire Division, in partnership with the North West Division, runs a successful and well used mentoring scheme. Whether you'd be willing to use your experience and skills and become a mentor, or you'd benefit from having a mentor, we'd love to hear from you.

Find out more about the mentoring scheme.

Promoting psychiatry

We’re committed to promoting psychiatry, actively taking an interest in local medical schools, in particular local psychiatric societies.

Medical students and Foundation Doctors are encouraged to attend events and conferences organised by the Division.

Involving patients and carers

Patient and Carer input is important to the Division. If you are a patient or carer, you are represented on the Executive Committee, and we also hope to see you at Division conferences.

Keeping your contact details up to date

The Division Office is committed to providing members with a fast and efficient service. So this can happen, members are asked to keep their contact details up to date – particularly their email addresses.

Please let us know if your contact details change.
