We are delighted to be running our first ever member survey – the results of which will help shape our future services and activities.
The online survey opened to members on 19 May and will run until 13 June 2021.
The survey is being conducted by market research firm Research by Design, who have carried out membership surveys with the Royal College of GPs, Royal College of Physicians and the BMA.
In April, we kicked off the process by holding focus groups with trainees, SAS doctors, consultants, fellows, and retired members, as well as with members in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. We also held a number of in-depth phone conversations with international members.
Through the online survey, we are asking
- what you think of our services and activities
- what we get right and what we don’t
- whether – once the pandemic eases – you would mostly like to engage with the College via digital or in-person means.
Members will receive an email inviting them to take part in the survey from 19 May and we would be very grateful if you could take 15 minutes to fill it in.
Our Registrar Dr Trudi Seneviratne said: “I’m really pleased that, working with Research by Design, we are going to be able to ask our members what they think of our services and how we could improve the support we provide.
“Our members’ feedback will be invaluable and we’re hoping that as many people will take part as possible, to give us the clearest picture of what members want from the RCPsych.”
Our Associate Registrar for Membership Engagement Dr Santosh Mudholkar said: “It’s really important for membership organisations to test out with their members what services and activities they value, and how they want them delivered.”
The results of the survey will be presented at the meetings of the RCPsych Council and Board of Trustees in July and shared with members via the September edition of RCPsych Insight.
