Dr Tony Rao

Tony is a community consultant old age psychiatrist. After completing an MSc in the clinical and public health aspects of addiction, he has led a Trust strategy for alcohol misuse in older people at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. He has been Visiting Professor at London South Bank University and is currently Visiting Lecturer at the Institute of Psychiatry.

Dr Rao has developed an evidence base to develop training, research and clinical services for older people with substance misuse. As well as Lead for Patient and Carer Involvement, he has also previously been Associate Dean for Equivalence and SAS doctors, as well as a GMC Partner.
