The Royal College of Psychiatrists is seeking 1 Patient Representative to join the Faculty of Eating Disorders executive committee as a Worker.  The successful applicant will have recent lived experience of eating disorder services.

The Patient Representative will be an integral member of the committee working with the chair and vice chair, to engage the wider membership and partner organisations in advocating for the Eating Disorder faculty patient group.

The focus of Faculty work is to secure the best outcome for people with eating disorders by promoting excellent services; supporting the prevention of eating disorders; ensuring prompt treatment to achieve higher recovery rates and reduce complications; improving medical training in eating disorders; promoting quality and research; setting standards, and being the voice of eating disorders psychiatry.

The executive committee meets four times a year, three times virtually and once in person in London to discuss a range of issues relating to the specialty of Eating Disorders.  The majority of the committee are psychiatrists from across the UK.  There are two conferences per year, one in the Spring and one in November or December.

The Patient Representative is expected to attend and contribute to the executive committee meetings and collaborate with committee members to complete pieces of work, such as input into consultation documents and college papers.  Opportunities arise for involvement with the annual conferences, communications and the media.

The Patient Representative must have access to their own electrical equipment to attend meetings and also have Wi-Fi connection.
