Frequently asked questions

All speakers, facilitators and chairs are invited to attend the meeting free of charge on the day of their presentation. The full daily fees will apply for any other day(s) or social events attended. You can book any additional days you would like to attend on our website.

All speakers will have access to the session recordings for the whole Congress regardless of which days they attend.

We plan to record all of the sessions at the Congress this year to then make available on-demand after the event. If you do not wish for your session to be recorded please indicate this on the speaker form that has been emailed to you or email congress@rcpsych.ac.uk

It is not possible for us to edit the recording after the event so please ensure that you are happy for everything contained within your slides to be shared in this way. The recording of your presentation belongs to the Royal College of Psychiatrists and cannot be shared with you following the event for personal use, training purposes or such like. The content of your presentation belongs to you and you are welcome to present the same presentation elsewhere.

All speakers will have access to the session recordings for the whole Congress regardless of which day/s they attend. These will be emailed to you one month after the Congress has taken place. You will not be required to pay an additional amount to purchase these recordings.
The RCPsych International Congress is open to the press. If you do not want your talk/session publicised in anyway please let us know by contacting congress@rcpsych.ac.uk before 26 April 2024.

Please make sure you have contacted and received permission from any colleagues, patients, service users and carers that you refer to in your presentation

Yes, you will be able to use PowerPoint slides during your presentation. Please ensure these are sent to us in .ppt or .pptx formats and not in any other format. When preparing your PowerPoint please read through our  guidance and recommendations.

Unfortunately we cannot accommodate for virtual presentations at this year's Congress. If you are unable to attend in person and are able, please send us a pre-recorded video of your presentation that can be played during your session in your absence.

Please note that you will be unable to join virtually for Q+A either.

We will have a dedicated 'speaker preview' area at the venue. If you have any amendments to your slide deck or simply want to check your slides ahead of your presentation please visit the desk at least one hour before your session begins.

Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate for virtual speakers. If you are unable to join us in Edinburgh for your presentation you will not be able to participate in the Q+A session with delegates. We will have a note of the questions posed to the panel and you will be able to write your written response after the session has ended.

If your presentation title and/or name is incorrect in the programme please contact congress@rcpsych.ac.uk so we can amend it for you. The deadline for any changes to the programme is 26 April 2024.

You are only entitled to claim reimbursement for your expenses if you have received an email from the Congress Team (if you are unsure if you are eligible for expenses please email congress@rcpsych.ac.uk ahead of making your booking).

Please make your own arrangements and claim reimbursement after the congress has taken place. You will need to submit all expenses through our online form after the Congress. You can find full guidance on our website.

We strongly recommend that travel is booked as sustainably as possible and therefore would encourage you to travel either by rail or road, rather than flights if travelling within the UK.

If you have any accessibility requirements or need any reasonable adjustments made for you to comfortably present at the Congress please ensure you include this information on your completed speaker form.

We have also put together a venue guide which you may wish to explore prior to attending the Congress.

If you wish to discuss anything in further detail please contact our Congress Manager, Katie Newton (e: katie.newton@rcpsych.ac.uk; t: 0208 618 4144)
