Seeking candidates for wide range of leadership positions

We have a variety of leadership opportunities open to our members in our Faculties, Special Interest Groups, Devolved Nations, International Divisions and Regional Divisions.

Anyone who wants to put themselves forward needs to complete a nomination form, with the support of two other psychiatrists, by 26 January 2024.

If more than one application is received for each vacancy a vote will be held. Voting will open on 13 March 2024, and closes on 10 April.

As a leader of an RCPsych Faculty you can help members stay up to date, learn about networking opportunities and access key resources for their core specialties. The full list of Faculty leadership vacancies is available on our site, and includes senior positions in the Addictions, Neuropsychiatry, and Old Age Psychiatry Faculties.

A wide range of RCPsych Special Interest Groups are also recruiting for leadership roles, including the Adolescent Forensic Psychiatry Special Interest Group, and the Private and Independent Practice Special Interest Group. View the full list of vacancies.

For those who are interested in advocating for psychiatry in their own nation, vacancies are open in RCPsych in the Devolved Nations, and in the International Divisions.

Alternatively, members can choose to participate in the leadership of an RCPsych Division, which serve members in each of the English regions – read more about these opportunities.

Trainees may also wish to join the Psychiatric Trainees Committee (PTC) to drive high standards in the quality of training, and to improve the lives of people with mental illness.

Taking on an RCPsych elected role will develop refine your leadership skills and will give you the ability to learn from the experience of others, including experts by experience.

These roles also bring great networking opportunities and the chance to contribute towards national policy.
