RCPsych in Scotland busy in final push before elections
RCPsych in Scotland have been busy promoting their manifesto for the 2026 Scottish Parliament Election, which will take place on 7 May.
The manifesto, Awareness, Action, Accountability: Tackling’s Scotland’s Mental Health Emergency sets out RCPsych in Scotland member priorities in five key areas.
In the past 18 months, College members and staff have held around 120 meetings with MSPs across parties to promote this.
In the final push before the election, RCPsychiS recently attended spring party political conferences, holding exhibitions and fringe events at the SNP, Scottish Labour, Scottish Conservative, and Scottish Greens conferences in recent weeks.
Through these events, College representatives were able to directly engage with party leaders, health spokespeople, members of the public and also party manifesto writers.
They have secured commitments from multiple parties to take forward College priorities into manifesto development processes.
