Professor Gin Malhi

Gin is a Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Sydney in Australia and a Visiting Professor at the University of Oxford, UK. He is the new College Editor and Editor-in Chief of the British Journal of Psychiatry, and in this capacity, Gin has overall responsibility for the complete collection of College journals and books.

Gin’s clinical research centres on mood disorders and suicide and he has a particular interest in diagnosis, neuroimaging, guidelines, and the therapeutic use of lithium. Over his career spanning three decades, he has published over 700 articles and books and has been recognised amongst the top 1% most highly cited researchers worldwide.
