Dr Anand Ramakrishnan

Dr Anand Ramakrishnan is a Consultant Old Age Psychiatrist. He is a Member of the Nominations Committee, a Member of the International Advisory Committee and Immediate Past President of the British Indian Psychiatric Association.

He is an International Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Asociation, a Secretary of the Steering Committee of UNESCO and a Chair in Bioethics UK Unit.

Dr Ramakrishnan is a co-author of several Faculty of Old Age Psychiatry and RCPsych publications, including Who Cares Wins, Raising The Standards, Links Not Boundaries, Substance Misuse in Older People: An Information Guide and Our Invisible Addicts. His particular areas of interest are ethics, Alzheimer’s dementia, late life depression and alcohol-related brain damage.

Dr Ramakrishnan is an Honorary Professor in Bioethics at SRM University, Chennai, a Visiting Professor in Psychogeriatrics at King George’s University, Lucknow and a Visiting Professor in Psychiatry at Father Muller Medical College, Mangalore.
