Peter Thompson

Peter has recently joined the College as Senior Associate Director for the College Centre for Quality Improvement. He previously worked in the CCQI from 2004 to 2016, establishing and managing many of the Centre’s accreditation and quality networks.

Prior to his return to the College, Peter was Head of Education, Standards and Quality Improvement at the Nursing and Midwifery Council where he was responsible for managing the quality assurance of UK education institutions delivering nursing and midwifery education.

While at the NMC, he was involved in the delivery of a major programme of change for nursing and midwifery education and the development of a new evidence-based quality assurance model.

Peter is also a magistrate in Central London.
