Quinton Deeley
I am a Consultant Psychiatrist at the National Autism Unit, Bethlem Royal Hospital, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, and Senior Lecturer in Social Behaviour and Neurodevelopment at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Neuroscience, Kings College London.
My research work includes understanding the biopsychosocial determinants of normal and abnormal development – particularly in neuropsychiatric disorders, dissociative symptoms, functional neurological disorders, autism, ADHD, conduct disorder/ personality disorders, and psychosis. I also research cross-cultural psychiatry and cultural neuroscience.
My educational role includes undergraduate and postgraduate medical teaching, as well as teaching on MSc courses at the Institute of Psychiatry. I supervise MSc and PhD students in addition to educational supervision of psychiatric trainees. I chair the Maudsley Philosophy Group and Cultural and Social Neuroscience Research Group at the IOPPN.
