Information for commissioners
MSNAP is endorsed by the National Audit Office , the All Party Parliamentary Group on Dementia and the Prime Minister’s Challenge on Dementia.
We support your work as a commissioner by:
- Assuring you, and your public, of the quality of services you commission
If we accredit a service you commission, you can be assured it’s a high-quality service with positive feedback from people who use it.
- Helping your services improve quality of care
We review memory services thoroughly against our standards. We identify areas of good practice as well as areas for improvement, and help services to work on problem areas. We use a peer review model, which means good practice is shared across the UK.
- Providing free training and conferences for staff
We hold annual conferences and special interest days to share good practice and encourage staff to visit other services in our network as peers. Both these opportunities, as well as other network activities, are free for our members and earn CPD points.
- Helping services through CQC inspection
MSNAP is a recognised information source for the CQC, which means the CQC considers our reviews to be robust enough to use as information for their inspections. Being reviewed by us also helps services to prepare for their own inspection.
Encouraging your services to join MSNAP
We would like to encourage you as a commissioner to speak to your local memory services about the programme.
