Approved job descriptions

This page lists Consultant and Specialty Doctor job descriptions (JDs) submitted from 1 Jan 2022 and approved by the College in England and Wales. (Northern Ireland approvals are shown from 1 Aug 2023)

All approved JDs have an approval number. Therefore, if you cannot find the JD you are looking for it may still be at the checking stage. Please therefore contact the employing organisation directly, who should be able to provide a reference number or further information.

The two tables below detail jobs submitted to us in 2022 and 2023 which are now approved. This information is provided as a service to members and employers and we make every attempt to keep the information up to date. We will periodically remove some JDs after a given time, therefore if you have a reference number and it is not on the list, or if you have any other questions, please email the JD approvals team.

Please note that the College does not provide copies of JDs to individual psychiatrists.

The process of approving job descriptions in Scotland is the responsibility of the Scottish Academy of Medical Royal Colleges.
