Race Equality Framework for Scotland

The Race Equality Framework provides a key framework for our work in this area.

It was developed by the Scottish Government with support from the Coalition for Racial Equality and Rights (CRER). This partnership approach also involved the Scottish Government’s race equality intermediaries; CEMVO Scotland, BEMIS, the Scottish Refugee Council and Interfaith Scotland.

One of its key aims is that:

Minority ethnic communities in Scotland have equality in physical and mental health as far as is achievable

This applies to accessing mental health care and support, as well as to the College as an organisation in representing its members and challenging discriminatory practices against them. From this our challenge in fulfilling its overarching aim is to improve the College in Scotland's awareness and actions around addressing racial discrimination.
