Policy and public affairs

We lead and coordinate work to improve mental health care and the provision of services through policy development.

We have an active and strategic policy and public affairs team which consists of both office staff and clinical leads who work closely with the membership.

The initial strategic aims for the College in terms of its policy engagement activities are:

• campaign for parity of esteem for mental health patients in Scotland
• to ensure equality of resourcing within the NHS
• to increase public awareness of the important work of psychiatry.
