RCPsych Wales Summer School

The RCPsych Wales Summer School is an annual two-day event for students interested in a medical-related career to learn more about the field.

During these two days, students will have an insight into a variety of healthcare professions as well as the policy-making associated with them.

The summer school is a great opportunity for students to explore the breadth of healthcare careers and gain more of an insight into what they may wish to study in the future.

The next summer school will take place on the 8-9 July 2025.

Programme

Whilst the programme varies year on year, it follows the following format:

On day one students will receive a tour of the Cardiff University Brain Research and Imaging Centre and hear talks from professionals including psychiatrists, surgeons, researchers, and medical students. Giving them an insight into the variety of healthcare professions.

Day two is based at the Senedd where students will have the opportunity to tour the building, as well as meet Senedd members and learn about how healthcare professionals can and do shape government policy.
