Eating Disorder Credential – Cohort 2

We are pleased to announce that applications for Cohort 2 of the medics-only Eating Disorder Credential opened on the 21 August 2024.

This credential is aimed at higher trainees, consultants, SAS doctors, GPs and pediatricians.

While the GMC ended credential approvals in December 2023, the College has decided, with the support of the GMC, to provide RCPsych College Credentials.

The aim remains to upskill and fill a gap within the current workforce to improve patient care and in the process bring down time on waiting lists.

The course is delivered over a 12-month period;

  • six learning days; Scenario days, lectures, ED Faculty conference days.
  • 1 on 1 mentor support.
  • online case discussion groups.
  • completion of an online portfolio.

The College previously delivered a multi-professional pilot in 2022 and is halfway through the first medic-only cohort (Cohort 1).

With the support of NHSE (NHS England) WTE (Workforce, Training and Education), we are delighted to deliver cohort 2 in February 2025, we are also hoping to secure additional places for Devolved Nations.

Feedback from current delegates

Here is some feedback from our current delegates;

‘Would recommend it as no other similar formal ED training which focuses on developing the ED clinician.’

‘The ED credential pilot was the most enjoyable part of higher specialty training in CAMHS. It was a worthwhile and rewarding professional experience.’

‘I thought both the ED faculty conference and the scenario days have been stimulating and relevant.’
