Peer support if you’ve been affected by patient suicide

The Peer Support Network for Psychiatrists Affected by Patient Suicide is a support group facilitated by medical psychotherapists, Dr Rachel Gibbons, and Dr Jan Birtle with occasional support from Peer Support Psychiatrists from the Psychiatrists' Support Service (PSS).

It meets about every two months; at each meeting, a member of the group or two will present their own experience of patient suicide, and the rest of the group will provide support.

Group members can attend every meeting or just the odd one, whichever works best for them.

The next meeting will be held on 8 October at 4.30 pm-6.15 pm on Microsoft Teams.

If you would like to be included on the circulation list and sent an invitation to this meeting or want more information about the group, please email the PSS at PSS@rcpsych.ac.uk
