Special event to celebrate Royal Charter centenary
We're celebrating 100 years since our Royal Charter was first awarded and you can enjoy exclusive events, BJPsych specials, archive collections and more, throughout 2026.
On the date of the centenary itself – Friday 13 March 2026 – you are invited to a unique in-person member event: Let Wisdom Guide: Reflections from RCPsych Past Presidents.
Six of the College's past presidents will join our current President Dr Lade Smith CBE to reflect on how psychiatry has changed over the years, and what the future holds.
The event will consist of an hour's drinks reception, between 5-6pm, followed by an 'in conversation with' event, hosted by Lade.
Dr Adrian James (President 2020-2023), Professor Sir Simon Wessely (President 2014-2017), Professor Dinesh Bhugra (President 2008-2011), Professor Sheila the Baroness Hollins (2005-2008), Dr Mike Shooter (President 2002-2005) and Professor John Cox (1999-2002) will join Lade for what promises to be a special event.
The evening will draw to a close at 7.30pm.
