Responding to The Times’ front-page story on Monday 7 August entitled "NHS abuse of mental patients ‘endemic’", the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ President Professor Wendy Burn said:
“It is very sad to see this report. The figures obtained by The Times would seem to be indicative of a system under severe strain. We urgently need more investment in our services so that patients can receive the care that they deserve."
