A new online tool called Browsealoud, which reads web pages out loud, will help thousands of users of our website to access our content more easily.

The tool, which is available at the top of every page, can read pages and documents in English, or translate the content into 75 languages via Google translate.

The innovative support software promises to help people with Dyslexia, Low Literacy, English as a Second Language and those with mild visual impairments.

Peter Markham RCPsych Head of Digital said: ‘We’re passionate about helping all users to access our content in the most convenient way and Browsealoud will help us to do that.

“Having the ability for our content be read aloud in multiple languages using the most natural and engaging voice will hopefully help transform many users’ experience of the site.’

To use this new functionality click on the Browsealoud text in the bottom right of our website which will open up the tool bar and select whichever function or language will be best for you.
