Response to the current climate protests

Statement / comment
20 September 2019

We understand why young people are protesting today and we understand the context in which they are living. We recognise the urgent need to address climate change and in our case we are examining the way we practice medicine – our aim is to practice medicine more sustainably to ensure we are not adding to climate change.

We also recognise the impact of climate change on the mental health of our patients.

The College has been a leader with respect to sustainability in medicine and has an established committee which is working to address the issues.
