Last night, 8 June, the College held the first of three events to celebrate newly elected Fellows of the College. These ceremonies honour the amazing contributions of our senior members, from around the world, to the field of psychiatry.
The event, held at the College's London headquarters, included a presentation ceremony with addresses from President Dr Adrian James and the Chief Executive Paul Rees. The 40 attendees, including the 16 new Fellows, then enjoyed a dinner at the College.
The Fellows presented yesterday included:
- Dr Suman Ahmed
- Dr Adewale Akinlosotu
- Dr Anthony Fry
- Dr Susanna Galea-Singer
- Dr Claire Gallagher
- Dr Sidhartha Hakim
- Dr Johanna Herrod
- Dr Hassan Kapadia
- Dr Hamilton McBrien
- Dr Rajesh Nair
- Dr Kishen Neelam
- Dr Srivarshini Sarvabhowma
- Dr Sanjoy Sen
- Professor John Steele
- Dr Andrew Williams
Each Fellow was introduced by College Treasurer Professor John Crichton, standing in for Registrar Dr Trudi Seneviratne, and a short biography was read about them detailing their many achievements.
More ceremonies for new Fellows will be held on 16 June and 13 July.
