Calum Mercer

Calum joined the College as Finance and Operations Director in April 2018.
The majority of his career has been in FD roles in a range of sectors including utilities, infrastructure, housing and health and social care and he has raised over £3billion in funding from banks and capital markets.

Calum has also been responsible for procurement, HR, IT, health and safety, membership services, facilities, risk and business assurance and has had a key role in major restructures, mergers and acquisitions and business development, helping to deliver rapid and profitable growth.

Calum has published a number of papers, including innovative forms of finance for housing and how to deliver the homes people need across all tenures. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, the Association of Corporate Treasurers and the Chartered Institute of Housing. Calum is a Governor of Manchester Metropolitan University, non-executive board member of Dimensions, one of the largest not for profits supporting people with learning disabilities and autism, and Grainger Trust, the affordable housing arm of Grainger plc.

Calum is focused on using his financial and strategic skills to help maximise the potential and capability of the people and organisations he works with, including the people those organisations deliver services to.
