Dr Laura Thorn

Laura is the current Chair of the PTC. She joined the PTC to represent views of trainees and advocate for trainee well-being to improve the experience of psychiatry training in the U.K. She is an older adults higher trainee with a particular interest in medical ethics. With an ever changing NHS, Laura believes trainees face challenges in many aspects of their work and training, including industrial action, and thinks it is important that trainees engage and focus on their own well-being throughout challenging times.

Outside work, Laura is a busy mum of two children; she enjoys reading, travelling and cooking.
