Booking for this Masterclass has now closed

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), affecting approximately 1-2% of young people, has a strong evidence base in terms of pharmacological and psychological treatments. We will review the current diagnostic criteria and aetiology of paediatric OCD and explore the current best-practice for assessment and treatment. Differential diagnosis and co-morbidities will be considered. Emphasis will be placed on the challenges and pitfalls experienced in OCD treatment, particularly for the most severe cases.

  • An understanding of evidence-based practice for assessing and treating OCD, as outlined by the NICE guidelines
  • An overview of specialised CBT for young people with OCD, with a focus on exposure with response prevention (ERP)
  • An understanding of the considerations and challenges associated with particularly severe and chronic OCD presentations.
