At the South West Division, we're delighted to invite you to our Spring Biannual Meeting 2023, which will be held virtually via Zoom, and recorded to be made available post-event to watch on demand.

The conference will provide an exciting programme on the theme of ‘Controversies and challenges in psychiatry’, and the day will include prize presentations. We have a great selection of talks focusing on the particular challenges and controversies faced when looking after people with serious mental illness, and will include opportunities for questions.

Speakers include:

  • Dr Daniel Beales – Consultant Medical Psychotherapist, Devon Partnership NHS Trust
  • Dr Peter Aitken – National Clinical Director DASV Program, NHS England
  • Dr Rachel Ruddy – Consultant Psychiatrist and Clinical Lead, States of Jersey
  • Dr Lynne Jones – Honorary Associate Professor, Centre for Global Mental Health
  • Dr Richard Laugharne – Emeritus Consultant Psychiatrist, Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust; and Research Lead, RCPsych South West Division

This event is taking place online via Zoom. To take part you will need:

  • access to a reliable internet connection
  • a PC, laptop, tablet or phone
  • Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browser, or Zoom installed on PC, laptop, tablet or phone
