ADHD Webinar Series, Session 1: ADHD in women – presentation, diagnosis and treatment through the lifespan

Event Information

This event is Session 1 only of the ADHD Webinar series.

The first session in this series will explore the topic of ADHD in women: presentation, diagnosis and treatment through the lifespan. We will explain how ADHD presents in women at different ages, and why the diagnosis can be missed. We explore how treatments may vary as a result.

We are delighted to announce the following speakers for Session 1 of the ADHD webinar series:

Dr Jessica Gibson - ADHD in women – the interplay between hormones and ADHD across the lifespan

Dr Jessica Gibson is a Consultant Psychiatrist and Clinical Lead for the Oxfordshire NHS Adult ADHD Service, which she helped establish in 2021. Prior to this, Dr Gibson had a long-standing interest and practice in ADHD whilst working in AMHTs and in-patient settings for 23 years. She is keen to share her fascination with all things ADHD!

Dr Gibson is involved in a lot of ADHD education locally and regionally. This includes regular training in ADHD diagnosis, comorbidity and treatment to psychiatry trainees, GP registrars, medical students, mental health professionals as well as colleagues in third sector organization.

She is very interested in research as well and was the Research Psychiatrist for a treatment trial in bipolar disorder for the University of Oxford. Dr Gibson has published in leading journals in the areas of mood disorder and perinatal psychiatry.  She is also an examiner for the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
