Andrew McIntosh is a Professor of Psychiatry at the Division of Psychiatry, University of Edinburgh and an honorary consultant psychiatrist in NHS Lothian. He co-chairs the Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) Working Group of the Psychiatric Genomics Consortium (PGC), is Chief Scientist for the HDR UK Mental Health Hub Datamind, and leads studies of MDD in both the UK and Africa. He seeks to identify the causes and consequences of depression using genomic approaches and by linking to large and routinely collected health datasets.
