ADHD in adults: Good practice guidance

CR235, January 2023

ADHD is a relatively new area for adult psychiatrists, and therefore presents additional challenges. In response to this, the College has produced a range of materials and guidance relating to this emerging need.

This particular document, developed by The Royal College of Psychiatrists in Scotland, Working Group for Adult ADHD, provides advice that is tailored to general psychiatrists working in the Scottish mental health system. It aims to provide a summary of the current evidence-based practice to assist clinicians in assessing, diagnosing and treating adult ADHD. In addition, there is consideration given to the commitments of the Mental Health Strategy for Scotland 2017–27 and how service delivery could assist with meeting these commitments.
