Commissioning for Quality and Innovation (CQUINs)
The Commissioning for Quality and Innovation (CQUINs) payments framework was set up in 2009/2010 to encourage service providers to continually improve the quality of care provided to patients and to achieve transparency.
CQUINs enable commissioners to reward excellence, by linking a proportion of service providers' income to the achievement of national and local quality improvement goals. 2018/19 was the final year of 'The Improving Physical Health for People with SMI' CQUIN.
