ACTION events and training
ACTION provides a platform for learning and education opportunities for all staff who work in alcohol care teams.
Our programme is shaped by ACTION members and range from informal peer support sessions to structured learning that is eligible for CPD points.
Our learning events include community of practice webinars, staff forums (including specific forums for Lead Alcohol Nurses and Band 3 and 4 nurses), National ACT collaboration days, peer review training and complex case discussions.
The Community of Practice webinar programme for 2024 is now available.
Access to these webinars and recordings is included in ACTION membership. Webinars are facilitated by the ACTION team with different speakers and topics each month.
Community of Practice webinars allow staff from alcohol care teams to network and learn about topics that are useful for the development of alcohol care team service provision.
Below is an overview of previous webinar topics:
- Lived experience – the power of storytelling
- How ACTs can facilitate multiagency responses to ED frequent attenders with alcohol
- Nutrition and Alcohol Related Brain Damage (ARBD)
- Q&A changes in administration of Pabrinex
- Alcohol Withdrawal and Neurotransmitters
- Support for family members
