Two finalists from Wales have been shortlisted for the RCPsych Awards 2024.
Dr Kim Kendall, a General Adult psychiatrist on the Wales Clinical Academic Track at Cardiff University, was shortlisted for the Academic Researcher of the Year (Early Career). Dr Kendall works on the role of rare genetic variants in psychiatric disorders and the translation of related findings to the clinic with a special interest in negative symptoms.
The second nominee is the Royal College of Psychiatrists in Wales' public education work with young people in Wales, the Cynefin programme, which was shortlisted under the Psychiatric Communicator of the Year category.
The aim of the Cynefin Programme was to develop a national and cultural programme of public education, co-produced with young people, that enabled them to explore issues that matter to them; whilst ensuring that these issues were at the heart of decision making in the national parliament of Wales ‘Senedd’.
The winners of the awards will be presented at the RCPsych Awards ceremony on Thursday 7 November, from 2-4:30pm.
