How you can support Choose Psychiatry
This week the College launched our 2023 Choose Psychiatry campaign, with the launch story in the media reaching a potential 1.1 billion people.
The campaign went live on Tuesday, with our positive story about actor and broadcaster Stephen Fry supporting Choose Psychiatry gaining headlines in over 200 publications and broadcast channels.
At the same time, this year’s campaign film went live, along with several blog posts, short videos involving the stars of the campaign film, and a flurry of posts across a range of social media channels.
Supporting the campaign
There’s a range of ways to support the campaign including downloading our ‘Why I chose psychiatry’ banners and asking the College’s Digital team to design you a bespoke banner with your own quote and picture for social media.
About the film
Our 2023 campaign film takes a fresh approach from previous years, with real life patient Angela interviewing four psychiatrists from different specialties and career stages, about why they love their jobs.
Run-through core trainee Nattashi Ranaweera, Higher trainee in Old Age psychiatry Dr Bikram Jaiswal, SAS psychiatrist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Dr Helen Lewis, and Addictions consultant Dr Louise Sell are quizzed by Angela over lunch, in a film which is intended to be more informative, and less emotive, than previous campaign films.
Support from influencers
Actor and broadcaster Stephen Fry and writer and strategist Alastair Campbell, honorary fellows of the College, have provided hugely helpful quotes in support of the campaign, which have helped us gain great publicity in the media and will aid our social media work during the campaign.
