Tackling Racism in the Workplace learning materials

Last year the College launched its Act Against Racism campaign and with it, new guidance for employers called Tackling Racism in the Workplace.

Fast forward 12 months, and the College’s Presidential leads on Equity and Equality, Dr Raj Mohan and Dr Amrit Sachar – along with Dr Ananta Dave, the College’s Presidential Lead for Wellbeing and Retention – presented at the College’s International Congress in Edinburgh to show what progress has been made.

Some 15 mental health trusts and private healthcare organisations have signed up to adopt the 15 actions in our guidance, and they are using Tackling Racism in the Workplace to do exactly that.

Following their presentation at International Congress, Raj, Amrit and Ananta spoke with the College’s CPD eLearning Podcast Editor, Dr Nadia Imran, about the guidance and the campaign.

In the podcast, they explain how the guidance can support psychiatrists in tackling racism in the workplace and how it’s already being used by organisations. They also explore how to overcome possible obstacles when implementing the guidance.

This discussion will enhance the learning and competencies for psychiatrists of all levels of seniority to tackle racism.
