National Autism Training Programme

March marks the launch of the National Autism Training Programme for Psychiatrists developed and delivered by HEE and the College in co-production with autistic people and their families.

The programme encompasses two separate pathways including foundation training for doctors who support autistic people across a range of settings and enhanced training to support the development of a future pipeline of clinical leaders for specialist autism services.

The programme is fully funded by HEE and free of charge to all participants. We are expecting training to continue until March 2025 and train over 700 psychiatrists each year.
