Professional Practice and Ethics Committee
The Committee meets four times a year to discuss guidance on psychiatric professional practice, including issues of policy into practice, confidentiality, probity and conflicts of interest.
Members of the Committee are those who have expertise and interest in ethics, confidentiality, quality standards and the relationship between policy and practice.
The committee has links with the College Centre for Quality Improvement (CCQI), the UK Clinical Ethics Network, the General Medical Council and the National Clinical Assessment Service.
Queries from College members
If you are a member of the College and have any queries concerning ethical/confidentiality/professional practice issues that you would like the Committee to give advice on, please contact Thomas Denning.
The Committee will aim to provide you with an answer within a month, however some queries may require additional consideration and therefore will be discussed at the next committee meeting.
Please note we are unable to respond to queries from members of the public. The College's Frequently Asked Questions and Mental Health Information may address these queries.
