Psychopharmacology Committee poster prize
Prize: The Psychopharmacology Committee will award 2 prizes at the International Congress for the best psychopharmacology poster (£100) and runner up (£50).
Frequency: Annually
Eligible: Any student or trainee with an interest in psychopharmacology, including medical students, SHOs, SpRs and trainees CTs 1 – 3 and ST3-6.
Where presented: International Congress, usually June/July each year
Regulations
- All applicants must be working in the United Kingdom.
- Applicants should be of medical student, foundation years, CT 1 – 3 or ST3-6 status.
- Three assessors nominated by the Academic Faculty will judge the poster and presentation at the meeting.
- All posters will be judged on clarity of presentation, originality of content, relevance to psychopharmacology, methodology and clarity of ideas.
- In the event that none of the applications is considered to be of a satisfactory standard, no award will be made.
Closing date: Same date as International Congress poster submission deadline each year

RCPsych Psychopharmacology Committee Poster Prize
Prize: The Psychopharmacology Committee will award 2 prizes at the BAP Conference for the best poster on psychopharmacology related to psychiatry (£100 each).
Frequency: Annually
Eligible: Any student or trainee with an interest in psychiatry, including medical students, science students and trainees CTs 1 – 3 and ST3-6.
Where presented: BAP Conference, held annually in the UK.
Regulations
- All applicants must be working in the United Kingdom.
- Applicants should be of student (medial or science), foundation years, CT1 – 3 or ST3-6 status.
- Three assessors nominated by BAP will judge the posters at the meeting. One assessor will be a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists Psychopharmacology Committee.
- All posters will be judged on clarity of presentation, originality of content, relevance to psychiatry, methodology and clarity of ideas.
- In the event that none of the applications is considered to be of a satisfactory standard, no award will be made.
Submissions to: All eligible posters at the BAP meeting will be considered. Poster presenters will indicate whether they wish to be considered for the award prior to the Conference.
Robert W Kerwin Prize in Psychopharmacology
This prize is intended to promote the role of psychopharmacology and it will be awarded to the authors of a paper that is directly related to work in the field of psychopharmacology and has been published in the preceding 12 months.
Prize: The prize money is to facilitate the attendance of one person at the College International Congress.
Frequency: Annual
Eligible: Anyone who has a clinical psychopharmacology paper published in the British Journal of Psychiatry, BJ Psych Bulletin, BJ Psych Advances or BJPsych Open during the preceding year.
Regulations
- This prize will be awarded to the authors of the best paper in the area of psychopharmacology published within the previous year in a Royal College of Psychiatrists’ publication (British Journal of Psychiatry, BJPsych Bulletin, BJ Psych Advances and BJPsych Open).
- This prize will not be restricted to people who are members of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, but will be open to anyone who has a clinical psychopharmacology paper published in any of the three journals mentioned above during the preceding year.
- The prize amount will be used to facilitate attendance of one person at the College Annual meeting international Congress, to receive the prize and ideally to present the winning paper in an appropriate symposium. The prize includes the cost of Congress registration and up to £750 to cover standard class travel and accomodation.
- Members of the Psychopharmacology Committee will decide on the winning paper.
