Dr Manoj Kumar

Dr Manoj Kumar is the Founder and Clinical Director of Mental Health Action Trust (MHAT), a not-for-profit NGO based in Kerala. MHAT works amongst the underprivileged communities with a particular focus on tribal and coastal areas, providing a comprehensive, good quality community-based, free mental health service to the needy.

Born in Kerala, he graduated from the Calicut Medical College and trained and worked as a Psychiatrist in Vellore, Ranchi and the United Kingdom. He has over 37 years of experience in the field of mental health. He is an Ashoka Fellow, a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, UK and is the Chair of the South Asian division of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
