Dr Muhammad Gul
Chair, West Midlands Division
Dr Muhammad Gul is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. He completed General Psychiatry training and training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at St Mary’s Hospital London. During training, he obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in University Learning and Teaching from Imperial College London.
He has a Master’s in Research in Psychiatry from University College London, is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Keele University, and teaches medical students. He is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy England and holds a Master’s in Medical Education from Keele University.
Dr Gul is a Fellow of the RCPsych and was on the Executive Committee of the Neuropsychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Faculties. He has also been a Regional Representative of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry for the West Midlands Division and recently stepped down as Vice Chair of the RCPsych West Midlands Division.
He is an Associate Medical Director and Director of Medical Education for the Midlands Partnership Foundation NHS Trust. His clinical interests include neurodevelopmental disorders, trauma, and school-based mental health interventions.
Dr Gul has an interest in service development and has taken the lead on many local and regional initiatives. He works closely with international organisations, providing training and working on collaborative projects and service developments. He has been offering a TeleHealth Service to CYP within his organisation since 2014 which was recognised in a National CAMHS CQC Report for innovation and good practice.
Dr Gul is also active in research. He is an international speaker and has delivered presentations in many parts of the world.
