Overview of the Quality Mark

Background

Why do we need the Quality Mark?

Hospital admission can be particularly difficult for older people. Without the best care, illness or injury can lead to poor outcomes such as loss of mobility or cognitive skills.

Loss of continence, skin problems, dehydration and malnutrition are also risks that have been associated with hospital care.

The Quality Mark helps wards to assess the needs of older patients and provide better care.

Taking part demonstrates commitment made by your hospital, your ward and your staff to achieve consistent high-quality care for older people.

The Quality Mark leaflet contains a summary of the programme. For more information on the process, click here.

If you are from a ward currently undertaking data collection, please click here to submit your data.
