UK, Cambridge – June 20, 2017 – The Royal College of Psychiatrists (RCPsych) and Cambridge University Press are pleased to announce the formation of a new publishing partnership beginning in January 2018. The College’s books and journals in the RCPsych portfolio: The British Journal of Psychiatry (BJPsych), BJPsych Open, BJPsych Advances, BJPsych Bulletin and BJPsych International will join Cambridge’s impressive psychiatry publishing programme.

The College’s flagship title, BJPsych, a top tier international psychiatric journal, publishes original research papers, covering all branches of psychiatry. The journal seeks to improve the prevention, investigation, diagnosis, treatment and care of mental illness as well as the promotion of mental health globally. Editor-in-chief, Professor Kamaldeep Bhui, commented:

“Partnering with Cambridge University Press is a great opportunity for the College to further promote the reach and quality of our premier journals and books. CUP has a heritage of academic publications and a charitable status commensurate with the College's values and mission. We are looking forward to this partnership and so pursuing better care for people with mental illnesses, and strengthening evidence-based practice among our members and mental health professionals around the world.”

Cambridge will also partner with RCPsych on their books programme. Over the past three decades the College has published a wide range of successful titles for psychiatrists, other mental health professionals, and the general public, and Cambridge are pleased to be both handling the highly regarded backlist and working with the College on forthcoming titles.

Speaking on the new partnership Mandy Hill, Managing Director – Academic Publishing at Cambridge University Press, said:

“We are delighted to be partnering with the Royal College of Psychiatrists to publish their distinguished journals and books from 2018. The titles complement our already prominent psychiatry publishing programme, and we look forward to collaborating with the College, Editorial Boards and membership, to ensure the continued growth and dissemination of their portfolio.”
