We're pleased to announce that the new impact factor for The British Journal of Psychiatry (BJPsych) is 9.319 (increased from 7.850) and the new BJPsych Open impact factor is 3.209 (increased from 2.286).
The impact factor is an index that reflects the yearly average number of citations of articles published in the last two years. We publish the impact factor alongside other metrics such as download figures and peer review statistics to present a fuller picture of a journal’s impact and quality.
BJPsych now ranks ninth of 156 journals in the Science Citation Index (SCI) Psychiatry subject category, and sixth in 143 journals in the Social Science Citation Index (SSCI) Psychiatry subject category. BJPsych Open now ranks 86 out of 156 (Q3) in the SCI Psychiatry subject category, and 62 out of 143 (Q2) in the SSCI Psychiatry subject category.
The invaluable support from authors, readers, reviewers and editors remains vital to our ongoing success. We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank you for your contribution to the journal portfolio.
