What we do in the Northern & Yorkshire Division:

Members in Northern and Yorkshire Division are supported by a strong, committed Executive Committee which meets quarterly.

The Executive Committee has an active academic programme and hosts two academic conferences each year. In addition to the academic theme one conference incorporates the AGM and one incorporates a trainee competition. Notification of conferences and trainee competitions are posted on the web page.

The Executive Committee encourage members to engage with the College locally, they welcome comments and suggestions from the wider membership and any member wishing to contact the Executive Committee can do so via the Division Office.

Northern and Yorkshire Division are committed to promoting psychiatry, actively taking an interest in local medical schools, in particular local psychiatric societies. Medical Students and Foundation Doctors are encouraged to attend events and conferences organised by the Division.

Patient and carer input is important to the Division. This group are represented on the Executive Committee and are also encouraged to attend Division conferences.

Notices of upcoming Elections and job vacancies are provided at the beginning of the year.

The Division hosts ad-hoc local events on behalf of the College, such as training for Approved Assessors and information about these events are posted on the webpage and notified to members by email.

The Division Office is committed to providing members with a fast and efficient service. To enable this, members are encouraged to keep their contact details up to date – particularly their email addresses, as this is the main method of communication. Please let us know if your contact details change.
